We are paid by families, not by universities
That single fact shapes every piece of advice on this site. An agent who earns commission from universities makes more money when you enrol at whichever institution pays best. We do not take commission, so the only thing we have to offer is being right about your case.
That is what “Know Your Paths” means in practice: public university, private university, branch campus, or a twinning route to a UK or Australian degree — four routes with very different costs, timelines and risks. You should see all of them before you choose, not just the one that pays the adviser most.
Where we stand
- Independent. No exclusive arrangements with any university, no commission from any of them.
- Free at this stage. We are still setting fees. Right now the assessment, shortlist and cost breakdown cost you nothing, with no obligation.
- Honest about limits. Local support in Malaysia is being built, not already in place. We say so rather than claim otherwise.
What we do
An honest shortlist
We look at what you actually hold — your qualification, your grades, your budget — and tell you which universities are realistic. That includes saying when a university you have your heart set on is out of reach, and why.
The full cost, itemised
Tuition, accommodation, living costs and one-off fees, separated out and worked through against your target universities. Not a headline figure that quietly leaves things out.
Applications and documents
Which documents each university wants, in what form, and what has to be notarised or translated. Most rejected applications fail on paperwork, not on grades.
The EMGS student visa
Malaysia routes every international student visa through EMGS, and the sequence matters — miss a step and you miss your intake. We work through the timing with you before it becomes urgent.
What we will not do
Worth reading before you talk to anyone about studying abroad — not just us.
We do not guarantee offers
Nobody can. Admissions decisions belong to the university. Anyone promising you a place is either lying or planning to put you somewhere you did not choose.
We do not push unaccredited programmes
Fully online degrees and "fast-track" qualifications that skip accreditation are not recognised — not in Malaysia, and not at home. We will tell you which is which, including when the honest answer is that a programme is not worth your money.
We do not take commission from universities
Our income comes from the families we advise. That is the whole reason we can tell you a public university is the better value when it is — a commission-funded agent has an incentive not to.
We do not invent numbers
Every figure on this site is sourced and dated. Where a range is an estimate, we say so. Where universities have not published next year's fees, we say that too instead of filling the gap.
On the ground in Malaysia
We are building local support in Malaysia — advisers based there, and an office in time. It is not fully in place yet, and we would rather write that here than have you find out later.
What that will mean once it is running: someone in the same time zone as your university, who can help with the things that only matter once you land — accommodation viewings, registration, your iKad, the first bank account.
Until then, we are straightforward about the split: the application and visa process we handle with you end to end; arrival support in Malaysia is limited, and we will tell you where the gaps are rather than let you assume they are covered.
Who runs this
This service is operated from Shanghai by a registered company, advising on Malaysian higher education. We are a small team rather than a large agency — which is why you deal with the person doing the work rather than a call centre, and why we would rather turn a case down than take one we cannot do well.

What do you charge?
We are still setting our fees, and at this stage the consultation is free — assessment, shortlist, cost breakdown and document guidance included. That is a genuine offer while we build up our track record, not a hook: there is no obligation and nothing to sign. Once fees are in place they will be a stated amount, agreed with you in advance, and published here. We will never take a percentage of your tuition.
If universities don't pay you, why should I trust the advice?
Because the incentive runs the right way. An agent paid by universities earns more when you enrol at the institution that pays the best commission, which is not necessarily the one that suits you. We are paid by families, so the only thing we have to sell is being right. If a public university at a third of the cost is the better answer for you, we have no reason not to say so.
Do you have people in Malaysia?
We are putting local support in place — advisers on the ground, and in time an office. We would rather tell you plainly where that stands than claim a presence we do not yet have. What we can already do is work with you through the application and visa process from start to finish, and be honest about what we cannot help with on the ground yet.
Which universities do you work with?
We advise on Malaysian higher education generally, and we do not hold exclusive arrangements with any institution — which is deliberate. Our university profiles are built from published rankings, fees and entry requirements, so a university appears in our recommendations because it fits your case, not because of an arrangement with us.
I'm not from China. Is this service for me?
Yes. Malaysia takes students from across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia, and the process is broadly the same wherever you apply from: entry requirements are assessed against your own national qualification, and the EMGS visa route is identical. Where something is specific to one country — Gaokao entry for mainland Chinese applicants, for instance — we label it clearly rather than assuming it applies to you.
